I had a great time at Cabinas Algebra! The owners are fantastic people and really made me feel right at home. It's quite a hike from the center of Cahuita, but very easy to get there. They gave me free rides back and forth from the bus terminal! Playa Negra is right next door, and overall I had a great time!

A great place if you want to be away from it all. Nice restaurant and pretty property. Not a lot of young people, or many other people staying there at all, so it was kind of boring for me since I was traveling alone. I found it to be too far away from the town of Cahuita (over a mile away), and though the owners have bikes to lend you, it can be difficult if there are other guests who want to use them. The owners will also provide transportation, but during the day only. As a female traveling solo, it would have been nice to be able to go out to eat after dark and either be close enough to walk or have a ride back so I wouldn't have to walk alone at night for a long distance. It would be much easier if it were just a short walk to everything. The black sand beach is very close, but I preferred the white sand beach in Cahuita National Park and that was also far. The owners offered a lot of services, but didn't tell you there was a charge until later.
Alfred, Andrea, and Samuel were excellent hosts. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in Cahuita.

This is advertised as having hot water and air conditioning, which it doesnt. This wouldnt be a problem excpet they do not have screens on the windows and no mosquito bed netting. Also, be warned it is very far out of town, if you are going to stay there have them pick you up at the bus stop.

Personally, you can't beat the location, the whole town is literally feet from the beach. The cabinas are a little out of town, but luckily, they have 2 bikes for rent at $3 per person, per day, which make it fun to travel around the area. The owners of the cabinas were very friendly and helpful and they picked us up and dropped us off at the bus stop. The only thing is that due to the hot and humid conditions, things were a little sticky in the room. The sheets and towels didn't seem to be so fresh and there is but a tiny fan to keep you cool. The property is nice and they have a little restaurant too, so that is a plus.
