Great hostel! Great location, cool atmosphere, free wifi, no curfew, free coffe and muffin in the morning and cheap breakfast as well. A great place! Simon, from Canada ~ 11th Nov 2009

A decent enough place if you just want somewhere to crash for the night. Very hard to meet people; the common room is tiny and nearly everyone kept to themselves. Kitchen was tiny and practical too - no one was using it while I was there but I imagine it would be nearly impossible to get time to use in summer months. Staff were nice and help on the otherhand, trying to make do with the hostel they had. No lockers in the rooms, no computers, bathrooms dirty and limited. Not awful for a small stay Luke, from Australia ~ 27th Oct 2009

Were virtually ignored when waiting to check in. No sleep despite earplugs. Filthy t-shirt and other questionable items hanging from tree outside. Promised breakfast nonexistent. I would rather have slept in a public park. Susanna, from USA ~ 27th Oct 2009

The hostel was really cool. It is on top of a nice bar that got quite packed each night we were there (thursday and friday). The only thing that I would say that is negative is that the hostel seems to be on the edge of a shady neighborhood but is a stones throw from gastown which is a very nice/cute neighborhood. We definitely saw multiple drug deals go down but I am assuming that these were all marijuana deals as pot is widely tolerated here. Thomas, from USA ~ 27th Sep 2009

It was constantly noisy because of the bar downstairs. The toilets were in a bit of a state and didn't all work. Still you get breakfast, it's a bed for the night and there's plenty of opportunities to meet people. Richard, from England ~ 30th Sep 2009

Need to give discounts to Cambie Bar and organize there a special section so people will easily identify fellow travelers and socialize more (next to food counter?) Organize group activities--trips, tickets to more events, etc. Extend breakfast time to 11:30 am. Staff, esp. Brits, needs to SMILE more:) Vitaliy, from USA ~ 25th Sep 2009

Very cool place. I would definitely go there again. People complaining about noise probably got street-side rooms on the first floor--our private room on the 2nd floor was incredibly quiet, even until the wee hours of the night. James, from USA ~ 24th Sep 2009

If you want to have a good sleep stay in another hostel and just go there for the party and the cheap beer in the bar. Bathroom is old and broken, kitchen to small. The breakfast upgrade in the cafe is excellent. For 2,75 delicious bread, eggs, bacon and hash browns. Yummie. Location is good in gastown, but a lot of bums and weird people & places around Bjoern, from Germany ~ 8th Sep 2009

Only my second time at a hostel but a good experience. Bathrooms were the only part I was a bit sad about but the rest was great. Good pub downstairs, great staff, cool building, parking garage (parkade) across the street for $6/night with security guard. Bryan, from USA ~ 1st Sep 2009
