nice location but the decorations are kinda odd and creepy. didn't see any other person in the hostel the whole time we were here. Overall a good place just to pass out in but not really hang out in.

========================================== THE DECORATIONS ARE KINDA ODD AND CREEPY ========================================== It is very hard to please everyone; I am sorry this traveler didn't see the beauty and grandeur of Camelot Guest House; this is a modern and majestic mansion- I lived there myself until I got married; I loved Camelot and enjoyed my stay there; Every time I visit Camelot, I often receive compliments of gratitude from travelers who tell me there are very few guest houses like Camelot (please see testimonials below). The building was completely rebuilt in the year 2000; it is a modern building, with a modern kitchen, utilities, and facilities. Please look at the pictures of the building and the room and see if this is a "creepy" place. This is a beautiful building- we usually book out- there are lots of requests for Camelot Guest House. We are always trying to see what we can do to make the Camelot nicer; for example: just a few days ago, I brought a really nice professional massage chair, and left it in the lounge for every one to use. We are always looking for ways to make travelers stay, more enjoyable. ========= STAFF ========= We do have staff that come and clean the rooms and the building daily. We use a self check-in system that allows travelers to check-in without any assistance- but if they need any help- all they need to do is call us. We have managers and staff on standby ready to assist- all you need to do is call us from the free phone in the building. These travelers never made on single call to us- to ask to cancel their booking or to move to another room or building (we have other guest houses). ============= TESTIMONIALS ============= 274) It's a really cool house in a pretty good location to downtown and public transportation...their security features and online sign on is a great idea!... The Camelot had many great amenities. I liked the freedom the hosts gave me as it was a self check-in and out system. All one has to do is follow all explicit directions for laundry, and the checking-in and out procedures. I had a great stay. One negative aspect was the busy street my room was overlooking. It was a main street in Salt Lake City with weekday morning traffic. Being a light sleeper, the traffic noise woke me up. Otherwise, I was very happy with my stay!

============ TRAFFIC NOISE ============ This is the first time anyone ever complained about the noise from the traffic. I lived in this building for many years and never had any problem. I wanted to let you know that I was happily surprised at how well your guesthouse is set-up and how well it works. At first, I thought there were many rules posted on the walls at Camelot, but soon realized that these practical rules help make it all work well, as there are a variety of people from vastly different backgrounds passing through. My room was cozy, everything in working order, the windows locked, and the bathroom was clean and neat. I have never seen such a greasy unclean and unfriendly-atmosphere-hostel before. The place has a sort of psychadelic atmosphere and is full of "don't"-signs and threats that a penalty fee will be charged to your credit card if you do not stick to certain rules like getting the laundry out of the wash mashine. The house smells old and there are neon lights everywhere. It's a really cool house in a pretty good location to downtown and public transportation. I was a bit displeased at the look of the mattress in my room, but their security features and online sign on is a great idea! It doesn't have a hostel feel though because of the lack of staff interaction and places to interact with other guests, but I don't get the feeling they are trying to be a true hostel. I would recommend this place, but with the above caveats.

Staff are very helpful and hostel (Guest House) is great. Lots of bathrooms, so no queues in the morning. Great place to stay in Salt lake. Better kitchen pots / pans / dishwashing liquid for sink.....keep mattresses in better condition - replace as needed.

=============== POTS AND PANS =============== We rarely get negative comments on our pots and pans; Camelot has two well furnished kitchens with pots and pans, dish washing liquid, disposable plates, and plastic ware. I have contacted our housekeepers to find out what happened; we're buying more pots and pans to add to the ones we have. ======== MATTRESS ======== No one has complained about the mattress in this room; I will double check to find out what happened.
