Andres really is super informative & helpful in booking tours. The place is off the beaten path from town - make sure your ride drops you off out front otherwise it's a 5-10 min uphill walk on a gravel path. Entrance isn't clearly marked & place is a bit worn down, but as to be expected in CR I guess. Great view from the porch. Very basic otherwise, a bit cold and dreary in the rooms especially since we went during rainy season. Decent breakfast, make sure to order the day before to save time. Awesome little place! I was only there one night to pass out after flying in, but a clean room, nice bed, and hot shower was just what I needed. Brekkies was also very delicious! Adair, from USA ~ 1st Jul 2011

This was definitely my favorite stay in CR! Andres was so helpful in booking tours and transportation and making sure everything was just perfect! Also, dont miss out on breakfast because it was delicious!Pancakes and fruit are a great way to start the day, especially since there is so much to do/see in monteverde. Pluses: Only 5 minutes to downtown center where the restaurants and shops are. It has a cool balcony with walking chairs. Breakfasts were healthful with fresh fruits, pancakes and/or rice and beans. Minuses: Some of the rooms are close to the kitchen where breakfast is prepared starting at 6am every morning. You will get waken up if your room is near the kitchen. The hostel manager is bit pushy when it comes to asking you to sign up for nearby attractions. He talks like a salesperson.
