The best thing about Camiri actually isn´t its awesome location on the Amazon river or the floating bar filled with interesting travelers all day, everyday - it´s their staff, led by Marcel, who will go WAY out of their way to help you find anything you need, including awesome Amazon Jungle tours, great places to eat, and guides for the Belen market. VERY highly recommend this hostel for any adventurous travelers looking for a great experience on the Amazon! Kristofer, from USA ~ 2nd May 2012

This was indeed an experience. A floating hostel on the river which has bags of character. Make sure you take your ear plugs however since loud music is played until about 2am! Stephen, from England ~ 29th Nov 2011

I love Camiri. what can I say? Beautiful and relaxing location, clean, friendly and with a lot of character. The staff is super sweet and helpful, and there is always really good music playing. Also, I recomment booking a motorcycle tour to Nanay with Marcel the owner. Super action-adventure fun and waaaaay better than any tourist traps you might stumble upon in Iquitos. man, I'm telling you... you might wanna stay there forever. Romina, from Peru ~ 24th Aug 2011

We have traveled extensively through South America, South East Asia, and Europe and this is the worst hostel we have ever stayed in. The hostel felt extremely unsafe and it was loud and very dirty. While a hostel should be a refuge, there were many unsavory characters hanging around at all hours of the day. As females we felt harassed and uncomfortable. If you are looking for a fun jungle experience this is not the place for you. Not only was the owner unnecessarily forward and grabby, he wa Gillian, from Canada ~ 20th Aug 2011

Camiri is the absolute best place to stay, hands down. No other place compares. The staff is warm and welcoming and the food is amazing. The hostel is right on the water and the views are stunning. Marcel, the owner is el mejor! He knows everything to do, where to go and how to stay safe and fun on your travel. Everyone is so nice and this place can serve all your traveling needs whether you just want to relax or you want to have a exciting experience! Danielle, from USA ~ 5th Jul 2011
