  • Tucked away just behing one of the main streets this little Hotel was a nice surprise. (Get your taxi driver to ring the hotel for directions) I was actually upgraded for free, which considering how cheap my room was in the first place was unexpected and delighted. The staff, especially Jilly, are extremely helpful, obliging and organised. Nothing is too hard. Safe, quiet, friendly, clean, spacious and in a great location just minutes from the city wall. I highly recommend this Canaan. A++

  • We've been two times in the Canaan, 3 nights in a new renovated room in the 15th floor, which was perfect. After a night in hua shan we came back with a new reservation via hostels.com but the staf wanted more moeney than we booked it for because of a public holiday! They can change the rates online, I hate the discussions at the reception after I booked something. In the second room the Internet didn't work plus there is no pool like in the description on this homepage.

  • Hotel...not a hostel, but if you book through hostels.com it's half the price. the receptionist asked us where we booked because it was so much cheaper. location is good, not great but xi'an is very cheap to get around. if you stay you need to go to the golden hans. its a german restaurant that is run like a brazilian steakhouse, 40yuan all you can eat buffet and meats.

  • A bit difficult to find, the street is like an alleyway, a bit dingy, but the hotel was really clean and deffinately not a hostel. We were overly chuffed with the quality for the price we paid, and they upgraded us to a better room for free (think this was because they didnt receive our booking details, but not sure). The cleanest place we stayed in China, and the bed was really confortable. The manageress speaks very good English (as do all the staff) and was really knowledgeable and helpfull. A little w
