  • Bill! It's late to write review but I haven't forget your help and kindness. Can't believe to meet hostel owner like you. I'm sure everyone will be satisfied for staying in your hostel. Thanks for your consideration. Hope you are going to be well =)

  • I would not recommend this hostel to anyone. This one is the worst experience. It is a converted house, stuffed with old and unclean furniture. The kitchen, toaster, fridge everything are very dirty. The dorm rooms are small, cramped. So I chose a bed in the basement area with relatively larger size. During my 3-day stay, I did not feel like taking a shower as the bathroom was small, unclean, had a funky smell, door lock also did not work! The first day I used the toilet, somebody had not flushed

  • Bill is a fine host. I really liked the big beds with spring mattress. That's a rest of a hotel in the price of hostel. The place is very near to downtown and bus ride is very easy and comfortable.

  • I think this is a great plce to stay in the D.C. area. The owner and operator Bill is a very fine host and extremely helpful with alot of area destination information. The hostel has a very good vibe and a great guest house feel. I have stayed there twice last year and already once this year. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when visiting the D.C. area. Thanks Bill!

  • The situation is perfect, Bill is very cool, he helps you for everything you need, he know Washington Dc as his pocket !! Everything is done for your confort, and for helping student, you can have free food for the morning ( the, bread, peanutbutter..) At the first sight, the area seem to be a ghetto, but i stayed for a week, and nothing happened at all, i took the bus in the night also, without any problems. I recommand this place for all others student who would like to visit W dc.

  • Great place for the price. I felt like home. Staff are very nice. It's near to the Mall which is the center of the city attractions. Music on radio was great, the best rock ever.

  • The guy who works there is really nice, and gives you advice on activities in the city, and remembers everyones name The wifi is also super fast.. The downside was the rooms were very seedy. The rooms were dirty and the bathroom smelt really bad. It is also not in a great location. It is in the ghetto, and it is a 12min bus into the city centre.

  • It was a pretty small place, but it never felt cramp. The rooms were clean and cozy, the person that ran the place, Bill, was infinitely friendly and helpful. It seems that many people passed through the place with only good things to say, I am among those people. No regrets. Thanks Bill!

  • It was so nice staying there! The manager of the hostel was so helpful i appreciate that a lot. He helped us with everything that we needed him for which was quite a bit. It was very familiar in that hostel, and we got to know a lot of friendly and very interesting people. everyone was very polite helpful and friendly. I liked having breakfast and i really loved the fact that there was a w-lan and free telephone. It has a close busconnection for downtown, thats good! It was a very nice stay! :)

  • Stayed a couple of nights in summer 2012. Bill is super helpful and very friendly, knows lots about the area. Not like most hostels I've stayed in, this place is more a guesthouse. Not spotlessly clean (but clean enough!), not the best facilities, but very friendly and welcoming with a good atmosphere and lots of charm, would recommend for a more down-to-earth travelling experience. The place is quite a way out of the city but there's a direct bus.

  • Capitol City Hostel is very homely and accommodating. The facilities there are good with access to the internet and use of the kitchen. I found the atmosphere really nice there and the vibe was welcoming. Don't expect it to be spick and span but it is budget accommodation in a great location of town, with only a 10-15 minute bus journey which drops you off right outside 7-eleven where you can get all your needs.

  • A fantastic little hostel with a good communal spirit facilitated by the staff and the layout and facilities provided by the hostel. Located in an accessible area too, with the X2 service running along H street running straight into central DC and costing $1.80 a trip. The staff are also a great resource for knowlegde in DC.

  • Great hostel, really felt like home from home. It is easy to get into the city and there are a great set of bars/restaurants just a short walk down the road (I can recommend the German and Vietnamese in particular). Bill is very friendly and the beds are great! I felt very safe around the hostel and in terms of value for money I think this place is a bargain.
