Location is excellent! It was a pitty that there was no inkt-in the printer. cleanliness-is-OK,except-the elevator. We-enjoyed-our-short-stay Francine, from Belgium ~ 2nd Nov 2009

The shower and toilets were not clean. The staff could not give information on anything (they even misinformed me about how to find the hostel...) They also had a restaurant but it was expensive and the portions very small. Jolan (Canada) Jolan, from Canada ~ 2nd Oct 2009

Amazing location, nice amenities, lots of young people hanging about. The rooftop bar is reasonably priced and has a terrific view of the bund and the skyline. Staff is helpful and seem to have a decent grasp of english which is sometimes rare in mainland. The locked cabinets in the dorm rooms didn't leave me feeling very confident, but when my friend lost his key, it still took the staff some hard work to bust open the lock for him. I would definitely go again if I go to Shanghai Orlando, from Canada ~ 15th Sep 2009

The location could not be any better. 50M to the Bund about and 7 min. walk to the Nanjing shopping street and subway system. At the end of Nanjing you have the peoples square and museum. After this most everything is a cab ride or subway ride away. The place was very clean and security was great. Big lockers in the room. The staff are very good at english and are very helpful. The food was good if you choose to eat in. The roof top bar has a great view but with they overpriced.Stay here Read Owner Comments Shawn, from Canada ~ 25th Aug 2009

Hostel is in a good area, an easy walk from People's Square. Private rooms were pretty nice and worth the money. My only complaint is the service which can be pretty appalling but as long as you don't expect much then Captain Hostel is probably OK for you. A great view from the rooftop terrace. Had a very cool feeling which made it a fun place to be. The staff could have been a little more friendly, and they make you pay for internet, which is kind of ridiculous. The charge a lot for printing too. Fuzhou Road (and shanghai in general) is very noisy all the time, so try to get a room facing away from the road.
