The air conditioner was very old (long time cooling the room) and was very loud. The showercabins sucked they where small and the water temperature and pressure was hard to control. But overall a nice hostel with very friendly and helpful stafmembers both with tour booking and other things. We arrived too early and staff was very helpful and kind enough to let us in anyway so we were able to enjoy our first day. Very good advice from desk on what to do and discounts. The staff were great with booking my tours, especially Andre.I felt that my stuff and I were safe there.People were either really friendly or really tuned in with their own groups.The kitchen is well stocked and cleaned daily, as with the rooms.You get your own private fridge.I got a free night because I booked over 200 bucks in tours (easy to do).Plus I was upgraded from a 6 person bedroom to a 4 person free of charge. A little far from the main strip - but also more quiet. No lockers in the rooms and the gap between top and bottom bunk is very small. The hostel didn't organize anything fun for the guests - no game nights, no communal activities...and on top of that, the hostel is quite far away from the center...a good 15 minute walk. A very basic hostel with perfect location. Friendly and helpfull staff. Its quiet and clean so the sleep is good but you will still find people to do something with any night of the week. fridge in the room is great too. Coronas is definitely my home in Cairns! Mattias, from Sweden ~ 22nd Oct 2011
