Note that the free Internet in this ad is actually only an hour of free Internet, not unlimited.This is probably the case for all hostels in Cairns, though... even the local library charges per hour for Internet.Basically, if you intend to use the Internet on your trip, I suggest that you finish everything you can before arriving at Cairns.The staff at this hostel are extremely friendly and helpful. I was so spoiled staying here on my first hostel stay. Room 73 was a private room, we got upgraded for free. The room was huge, bigger beds, a/c, refrigerator, nice shower. The internet connection was awesome. This place is fantastic!!!!!! Justin, from USA ~ 27th Apr 2012

The air conditioner was very old (long time cooling the room) and was very loud. The showercabins sucked they where small and the water temperature and pressure was hard to control. But overall a nice hostel with very friendly and helpful stafmembers both with tour booking and other things. We arrived too early and staff was very helpful and kind enough to let us in anyway so we were able to enjoy our first day. Very good advice from desk on what to do and discounts. The staff were great with booking my tours, especially Andre.I felt that my stuff and I were safe there.People were either really friendly or really tuned in with their own groups.The kitchen is well stocked and cleaned daily, as with the rooms.You get your own private fridge.I got a free night because I booked over 200 bucks in tours (easy to do).Plus I was upgraded from a 6 person bedroom to a 4 person free of charge. A little far from the main strip - but also more quiet. No lockers in the rooms and the gap between top and bottom bunk is very small.
