This was my first hostel experience and it was a great one. I stayed at Casa Esmerelda for my entire trip in Buenos Aires, two weeks. The staff was very friendly, especially Jorge (thanks for the travel tips and great conversations) and Mora (the dog).

Casa Esmarelda is fantistic. Used it as my first port of call on a world trip and it has helped me feel so easy. Staff so attentive and friendly, bend over backwards to help. Love the dog! quit your job buy a ticket, come see argentina and when you do, visit casa esmeralda!

We stayed in the front room which was a bit noisy because of traffic and front door. Also one morning the owners had a small party which woke us up at 7am...That said this place was nice, the breakfast is nice, the dog is very friendly, and the bathrooms have good showers and a clean bath!!

Nice garden, and a good location (particularly for the bars and cafes of Palermo!) Lovely dog too... Could be a bit noisy if you were in a front room, I imagine, but we were at the back.

sebastian is a champ! great patio area, good for a chilled cerveza or 2 perhaps not the best if you´re the clubbing kind though
Staff was nice, although no one ever gave me a tour or told me the rules. Also, my bed was as hard as cement, and the room was stifling at night.
