I don't mind coming here again just because i like the staff there. They are very helpful and great. I love the idea how they have breakfast pack so I can have it on a go. The only let down was the toilet, I wish it was cleaner and the water is not that hot.

Location and staff are just great! Though, if you're used to an American hotel chain..like Holiday Inn, Best Western, Marriott, etc, you'll be disappointed.
It's a wonderful place to stay to sleep..don't plan on spending much time in your room..it's very sparse.
But it's a typical hostel..sparse is the norm!
Enjoy your stay in Rome..it's a beautiful city! If you don't have much time there..it's best to do a hop-on, hop-off bus tour...we sat and used the headphones on the entire trip, hopped off, had lunch and then decided which "stops" to get off at on the second trip around!

The staff was too rude. He didn't allow us (we were 5 girls) to check in because we were just 10 minutes late for check in. Please don't stay there if you don't have to stay anywhere...

This is hostel in an old house in the centre of rome and it does truly reflect the feeling of the city. If you want a hostel for yourself where you do not feel like a "tourist" but rather, you feel like you live in Rome for a few days like local Romans do, stay at Casa Olmata. The house is a typical old Italian house, the staircase is an old Italian staircase with marble stairs and room for only one person to pass through it... Everything in that house is so much Italian. The staff I had a chance to come into contact with there are very friendly and service-oriented. However, it is the location of the hostel that I found the best of all. You can literally walk into practically any part of Rome that is "worth seeing", the hostel itself is right next to the Santa Maria Di Maggiore Basilica, one of the (many!) landmarks of Rome, and the rest are walking distance away. I really enjoyed my stay there.

looking from the outside does not seam very nice, but in the inside it is good and the staff is very gentle!!! But the kitchen is not very good...

Good hostel, within walking distance of the Colloseum and the Forum. Big sack lunch type breakfast included, which was good! Would stay here again.

I stayed in the hostel with my two daugters for 3 nights. The location was good, we got a warm welcome and a cold bottle of water. We stayed in a building a few blocks from the reception and got our breakfast every day in a paper bag, it wasn't very tastfull but it was enough to start the day with. I would recommend it to every body for just a few days not for a longer time, The price is good.

I really enjoyed staying at Casa Olmata. My only complaint is that things are not as they advertized. There is no free internet or any internet access at all, you must go to a cafe. They also put us in an 8 bed room instead of the 6 bed room that we booked and charged us the more expensive price. Things worked out well, but it is hard when you expect one thing and get another.
