Rooms are basic, the showers not the best ones. AC and breakfast are a plus, and located less then a block from the beach, and close to the main street with lots os restaurants and bars. Recommend mainly because of location. Simone, from Brazil ~ 26th Nov 2009

The hostel is at a very good location, the staff is very friendly and the rooms are very clean. Nevertheless the ambient was a little like an hotel, maybe because everyone was having fun at the beach and at 5a Avenida. Francisco, from Mexico ~ 4th May 2009

My time at Casa Santiago was very enjoyable. Couldnt ask for a better location. Always felt safe as someone was at front desk at all times. When I was there work was in progress to build a bar, which would make it the perfect place to stay. If I ever go to Playa again I will stay there without question. This was a very nice hostel, great staff and SOOOO close to the beach - like just down the road. ADO to Cancun is 4 blocks down the road, colectivos to Tulum and Cancun an easy walk away. Breakfast the usual continental, but the staff was fantastic: helpful, never too busy to chat, had gorgeous dogs just waiting to be patted... I loved it. Thank you all! The place is okay, though i've stayed in nicer hostels around. the rooftop is quite dirty and not a nice place to hang around, but the rooms are clean und breakfast is good. katrin, from Germany ~ 4th Jan 2009
