The hostel is about 15min walk from downtown but it's close to some eateries and shop nearby. Be careful about the price, they raise my rate from $19 to $24 when I wanted to extend my stay for additional 2 nights. That's incredible. The reason was because it's May.

The staff were great, super friendly and helpful and the tues & fri cheese and wine nights were fantastic.
Great place to meet people.A good 15-20min walf 4m d centre of town but they do provide access to a few free bicks n a regular drop of service in to town.If ur up4a good tim n a good pis up Id recomend it.Its stil good for a quite relazed stay as pple let you do what u want.

This place was a bit of a let down. having to pay for A/C in double room is unreasonable, could not find communal fridge, bathrooms need some work, our room very small little room to move and the room was directly off the dining room/Kitchen/TV room which wasnt very private or quiet particularly when owner/manager was throwing pots and pans around at 7am - not cool. it is also about a 15 min walk to the centre of the esplanade. staff are friendly and helpful with tours/local info.

I enjoyed my stay at Castaways. The hostel was lovely. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed their free cheese and wine nights. It was good of the hostel to arrange them. I would definetly recommend Castaways to my friends.
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff extremely accommodating and ensured that distance in to town with the bad weather was not an issue. Wine and cheese night gets a massive thumbs up!

Nice comfortable - not too big and busy. The staff work hard to look after you which is nice. The free car to and from town is very good especially during the wet season. More computers would be good and later reception opening times.
