The hostel is situated in a good part of town. Next door to some really good bars and restaurants. We stayed in an 8 bed which was fine. The only down side was that the room did get very hot and there were flies in the room that landed on you when you slept. This could just be our room though... the staff are very friendly and were helpful when it came to transport to the airport. overall i would defiantly come back though. Hostel is right above a bar that is very loud late into the night. The noise is not too bad if the windows are closed, but this is not too practical in the summer. There is nowhere to make any food or even boil water. Karen, from New Zealand ~ 25th Jun 2009

Don't stay here!! Clearly not just our luck, we ran into locals and other travelers that evening at the pub and they all agreed not to stay there based on similar experiences. There was no one there when we arrived, we asked at the bar next door and they said that is typical for him and they called him for us and he said he would come by. We waited for another 45mins. for him. Finally some guy should up and wanted 3 times the money, with no proper check in, and an 8 person vs. our book Susan, from USA ~ 13th Feb 2009

The review above is for the hostel next door to Castle Hostel. The owner of Castle could not be arsed to come and open up to let me stay there and communication got very confused with him telling me to wait there for him, then when he didnt show I rang him back and he said actually he's not coming, go next door. Very weird. Why the hell can't he write this on the hostel websites rather than letting people find out and get pissed off when they get there? A total lazy arsehole.
