“ It was a great place to socialize with fellow travelers. The decor was awesome with random pictures and such on every wall. The staff was super friendly and available. The location was perfect for seeing all the tourist spots. Overall an excellent place to stay. One of my favorite hostels. ”

“ The hostel is right by the huge Castle. The hostel itself seems like a castle on this inside. The living room/hangout room was the biggest and nicest I've seen in a hostel. Your only reason for not staying here is if you don't like big hostels with lots of people. ”

“ Castle Rock Hostel is awesome!! This was my first time to stay in a hostel and I really did had a brilliant living experience in here. It's clean, comfortable, and interesting to live in here. No matter you're only or with accompany, it's worth to stay. Best of all, the staffs are very helpful and very kindness. Definitely will come back and stay here again in future : ) ”

“ Overall, good, clean, safe hostel. One staff member (an Oz guy married to a German was awesome!(you know who you are!)) My double private room was VERY basic, even by hostel standards!! The room contained a double bed and a sink. NOTHING else, which meant bags, clothes, everything was dumped on the floor, could really use an IKEA trip to buy some cheap bedside tables or something!! Also the bed didnt have a matress, just two foam sheets on top of each other. My wife slept fine, I didnt. ”

“ Really busy place, way to many beds, just all in all it was packed at really annoying, but the location was absolutely beautiful and amazing, also they had a great event for Burns night which was lots of fun, staff was very knowledgeable, breakfast was ok but not free which was bs. ”

“ There might not be a better place for you to stay when visiting Edinburgh. Located only minutes away from the castle and the Royal Mile, the Castle Rock Hostel is a great place to start your tour through the city. Also it's very close to a lot of Bars, Pubs and Clubs... The Staff was pretty friendly and I was surprised and overwhelmed by the cleanliness in this Hostel.. I absolutely recommend it to everyone who plans to stay in Edinburgh!!! ”

“ I loved this hostel! At first I was very upset as I did not realise that it was quite a trek to get from the station (drop-off location of airport buses) to the hostel but once I got to experience it I fell in love. It is really clean and the staff are helpful. It has amazing decor and every room has a theme with each bed having it's own unique name. Every person is supplied with a locker so your belongings are safe and you have to present a pass before you are give access to the hostel. ”
