a good walk from the Station subway stop, but not far enough away to really bother. The X2 (I think) stops right near it though. Was very clean and bed rooms had big, nice wooden bunk beds. Had house milk, bread and peanut butter... that was cool.

this hostel is only here as a money making project. the staff can be difficult 2 talk 2. there are far too many beds per room and is very cramped. dont really like the fact that homeless people share the room..... lock your stuff up. i have stayed in lots of hostels round the world ovetr a long period of time and this one is not here for the people, its here 2 make money and that is it. love new york tho. woop woop

A nice hostel, just let down by staff who didn't seem to care. A stark contast to other hostels in the USA. Excellent proximity to a good subway station to access all of downtown.

Negativ points are that they have only 3 bathrooms per floor with about 80 beds. We got only one key for two people and the only activities we found is a pub crawl, which is actually organized by someone else. The rooms are pretty small and there are as many beds fit in as possible, but that wasn't a too big problem. The location is one block from the central park and the next metro station (A,B - local service) which takes about 15-20 minutes to Midtown/Timessquare and about another 20-25 minutes to Downtown. I guess I would rather try the HI next time I go to NY, which is only about 3 blocks away.

Owner closed off lounge one night because he was having friends over. Pretty rude guy.

Staff were quite rude. Air con was broken, and extremely noisy during the night. Laundry wasn't changed at all during my stay. Very close to Subway and Central Park.

It is good for a cheap place to stay that is close to everything by subway and right next to the park!
