Althought the staff is friendly, the location of this hostel makes it a poor choice. Pozo Iquiedo is a small town, only one bus comes a few times a day, and has poor beaches. If going for wind surfing and low key nightlife, then this could be right for you. But if looking for warm, sandy beaches and close by nightlife forget it-the closest beach/resort is about thirty minutes/hour away. If able, should stay in the South of Gran Canaria or maybe the capital city, Las Palmas.

Wonderfully friendly staff. Always eager to help you with any kind of information and tips. This place is very quite in a deep Spanish environment, unlike the international-like but boring Maspalomas. Better go and eat or have a drink in the nearby city of Vecindario instead of Maspalomas.

It was a beautiful place and the staff was great, but it´s the wrong time of the year. Nothing going on and no one there. Also, be warned, the nearest beach is about 12-15 km away, so you´ll need a car or you can wait on the buses that rarely run on schedule. Great staff though and breakfast was above average.

this place is 20 km from any worthwhile beach, it has a beach but it is rocky and has lots of garbage from the dump laying on it. directions say near vecindario, not even close to that location. Have to take a taxi to get to the town (3.50E) and then another 2.50E to ride the infrequent and slow buses to your destination. surrounded by a power plant with at 50 power turbines and a dump that has activity all the time. linens are not included (6.50 E) and building needs alot of work (paint falls off walls, windows come open with a gust of wind, and bathrooms lack curtains. SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND STAY AT A HOTEL...

DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE TO GET A TAXI TO GET OUT, OR UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO RENT A CAR AND LOVE WINDSURFING. THE LOCATION SUCKS.

Nice staff, for surfers an excellent location because of the endless wind. Shame it is such a secluded area, with poor connections to for example Vecindario or the rest of the island.

This Hostel was Great and the staff very friendly, the location of the hostel is meant for windsurfers and surfers during the season and is very quiet in the winter, however there are good transport links to enable you to explore the rest of the island and the young people who live in the town are very friendly. I would definately consider returning to Pozo Izquirdo

The hostel is in a pretty rural location, without many tourists. The windsurfing is excellent and it has a nice pool. Great if you just want somewhere peaceful to chill out. Also pretty close to vecendario a major town.
