I would recommend this hostel to anyone, i stayed during carnival in a 6 person dorm that had it\'s own shower room, air con and both worked fine. The staff were great too, they were all very friendly and always helpful, the location was also good as it has a metro link and bus stops very near by. Thanks to everyone at Che Lagarto i had a fantastic stay :-)

It's too budget!! We left as soon as we enter. We found something better and cheaper a few blocks from there.

Walls and matrasses reeking, covered with mold. Dirty bathroom a joke even for this category of accomodation. Air conditioning unbearably loud. Room was not cleaned on arrival, stuff from some other people had to be removed before we could get into the room! Staff apathetic and not helpful. This place got nothing to do with the cool hangout image they try to convey on the web page. AVOID IT

I loved staying in the hostel. Good location, nice clean private room. The staff were excellent, hooking us up with great tour operators and funny taxi drivers to take us on trips.

Rickety bunks, saggy mattress and showers leaking into the dorm room. This place is definitely budget quality but there´s better hostels in RIO for the same price.
