Strategic location for the transport in and out of NY. Safe, clean place, very kind staff! recommended Natalie, from Peru ~ 21st Aug 2009

The good: staff were professional, the room was cheap, the location was convenient, and what you could directly see was clean. The bad: lots of street noise (honking, trucks, buses, screaming drunks, swearing vagrants). Large rooms mean people checking out at all hours of the night. Uncomfortable mattress. The ugly: found a dead bedbug on my mattress, and 1.5 inches of flat caramel in between the folded bedsheet I was given. In the morning there were 3 bedbug bites on my leg and 2 on my ch Marcus, from Canada ~ 15th Jun 2009

great place, the staff were super friendly and the hostel is one block from Penn Station....I felt very safe. Make sure to check out the Irish Pub across the way.....great night cap before you return to your bunk! ADawn, from USA ~ 15th Jun 2009

The location is the most advantage of this hostel. All other things are ok, but not great! It is hard to get a better location for that money in New York City. So, I recommend it! Christian, from Germany ~ 1st Jun 2009

Great location, close to everything as its one block from Penn Station and the subway, a few blocks from the Empire State Building and on the edge of Chelsea. Rooms were clean, there's good security, ensuite bathrooms, but slightly uncomfortable mattresses and the ever-present bunk beds. Traffic noise on the rooms of 8th Avenue is pretty extreme but you do feel like you're in the middle of New York! One strange thing - the dorms seem to attract a very male clientele - it's about an 80% to 20% ra Kate, from Australia ~ 26th May 2009

As there was no communal kitchen or lounge area - as a solo traveller, it became quite an isolating experience -however the location and cleanliness of the place exceeded all expectations - if you want to meet other solo travellers, then this place would be perfect during god weather as there is an outdoor rooftop garden area - (still no kitchen, therefore no saving money on breakfast!!)    Devina, from England ~ 6th Apr 2009

The hostel was located in a great location right near the heart of the city (Times Square). It was a little loud inside the room from all of the traffic(both street and pedestrian), but definitely manageable. I would strongly recommend that you bring a set of ear plugs with you. By the way, there is no kitchen or refrigerator. There also is no real lounge to hang out but I suppose that gives you an incentive to get out into the city. Overall, it was a very clean and respectable hostel Jeffrey, from USA ~ 15th Mar 2009

A great stay, thoroughly recommended! The hostel was spotless, comfortable and in an excellent location. The terrace was a great place also. Julia, from Canada ~ 9th Mar 2009
