  • That black kitchen lady is probably the rudest human being l've ever met in my life.

  • This is by far the best hostel I've stayed in. The rooms and the bathrooms are very clean, there's a bus station in the corner and a metro station 2 blocks away. The staff was very helpful, they have many activities to meet people and to know some places in Chicago... don't hesitate... you won't regret your stay here.

  • Getaway is a good choice if you're looking for a place to meet new people and have fun. It is just a bit noisy and I also didn't like very much to walk all the way across the lobby just to use the bathroom. Overall was okay.

  • Toilets were old and dingy. There was a lack of space to hang one's clothes and the water would spill out of the shower area into the sink area. Facilities were alright, staff were good, and the place was located conveniently near a subway station.

  • Hostel associate, Treiel (the kitchen lady), is a very special person and is one of the reasons I will return to here. Her warm smile, friendly greeting each day and her willingness to help anyway possible. The front desk staff, also friendly and helpful. Even though if was a St. Patty's Day weekend with the extra activities you would expect from the younger crowd, all was good. See ya again soon! Eddie

  • Very inviting when you walk in, however, the room was very small for 10 beds, and the beds are EXTREMELY noisy! Also, if you're on the first floor across from the elevator, it's very noisy. The bathrooms were ok - could've been cleaner, but it always depends on the people using them. Same goes for the rooms (unfortunately, I shared mine with some very messy girls). I wish the staff would enforce their "don't switch beds" policy more as there were some issues with that too. Overall ok.

  • A bit pricy compared to other hostels. Also, the bathrooms for the dorm style people were not very private. Other than that, everything was very nice...and so close to Depaul!

  • I enjoyed the atmosphere in the hostel very much - friendly and easy to get to know to other people. The kitchen is excellent and even the included breakfrest is quite good (I made much worse experiences in other hostels). Only problem: the beds were terribly noisy. But using earplugs (which I anyway need in a dormitory) I could sleep quite well.

  • Great hostel--helpful staff, nice smelling lobby, free breakfast, bathroom ensuite has hair drier, ten minutes walk to the train station. Only complaint is, there's no wifi in my room in the basement. Overall, I wolud recommend this place to others.

  • I enjoyed the location (suburb type), quite residential. The room and bathroom were pretty clean. the breakfast is good, except if you stay for a long period of time, a little bit of variety would be nice.

  • The hostel is located in a very pleasant residential neighborhood, very quiet and safe. You have to take the subway to reach downtown, but it is a short ride. My only complain is regarding the bathrooms. They got flooded easily and needs a little more care. They are clean though (not super clean, but clean).
