NOTE: I STAYED AT ATHENSTYLE...this is their hostel in central Athens. All of my review pertains to Athenstyle, not Northern Backpackers. Plan accordingly. The staff is exceptional; the location is central; the tone is quiet, but open for social opportunities on the beautiful rootop terrace

We only stayed there one night. It was a very nice place and VERY clean. However, the beds were very uncomfortable and it was difficult to find. I would have loved to stay at this hostel for the rest of my trip, but it was too far away. I have heard, however, that this couple are opening another place in the center of the city. If I went back to Athens, I'd probably look into staying at that place. Also, I think the owners are working on a map-- That would be very helpful.

This place is new, neat, clean, and a comfortable place to end your day. My only complaints are that is no where's near the city center- it's a bus and metro ride away ~40-60 minutes and the main dorm area is in the same room as the common/kitchen area, so you can't really stay up late hanging out or get up early for breakfast without disturbing others.

The staff is very restricted, but at least, it's personal, and they know your name. You don't fell like a number that's just passing by.

Other than being eaten alive by misquitos, and being at least 20 minutes from everywhere, this place was great! Chris is very nice and quite helpful, and the Hostel is quite clean with good bathrooms and very nice showers.

This Hostel has the potential to be great and it is in a safe and quiet neighbourhood but unfortunately it is very far away from the centre of Athens (metro and bus trip) and it is unclean it really needs a good sweep and mop and the bathrooms really aren't up to hygiencally. I'm not a cleaniness freak but it really needs some attention!

very nice people. went our of his way to keep my luggage and return it to me. i was a female traveling alone and felt safe here. only problem is that it is way out of town. when you get on the bus after the metro be sure to tell the driver where you want to get off. i thought it would be obvious but it wasn't. i had the place to myself which was fine by me but not if you want to meet people. maybe in the busier months it fills up. very safe and friendly.
