Very nice rooms, but the lighting could be improved. It seemed more like a hotel than a hostel to us. Good laundry service. Free internet is on the slow side, but a reliable, wired in-room connection. Close to the metro station. We definitely enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again. Great hostel to stay in Shanghai. I loved the general atmosphere and the bar, which has great inexpensive food and drinks. Free breakfast is very satisfying (bread and toast, dumplings, cereal, etc.). 4-bed dorm is OK, although the lockers aren't very sturdy. Bring your padlock. Public bathrooms are very clean and intimate. The hostel offers free transportation to some of Shanghai's points of interest every morning. It also organizes day trips to cities close by. Allergic to cats? Watch out. Emilie, from Canada ~ 9th Nov 2009

This was a very nice place to stay, close to subway, clean and helpful staff. The free breakfast was ok. Mathilda, from Sweden ~ 9th Nov 2009

Plus points- tour desk at lobby which offers great travel resources, free breakfast (limited variety though), free morning shuttle bus to major attractions (JingAn Temple/People's Square/YuYuan Garden), lift (esp if you have a heavy luggage), telephone in room (free for local calls); minus points- Don't be misled by its name as it is actually located in a residential area in Shanghai, not really close to city centre. Quite quiet in the evening. Limited eateries and 24 hr convenient shops nearby. Hui Mean, from Malaysia ~ 19th Oct 2009

This is a great place to stay. Good value for money and has all the necessary services a traveller needs. Whether it is a long stay or a short overnight stay i highly recommend this place. Staff speak good enough english. Not a central location though but close to subway station. Matthew, from Australia ~ 19th Oct 2009
