  • This hostel is pretty run-down. Looks like the owner doesn't care to put any money in it. It's pretty dirty. Very little charm. I stayed in a private and the walls in the room had stains all over, the floor was coming up and the bathroom had a funk and moldiness to it. I've stayed in other hostels before, so I know what to expect from this type of accommodation. I would say "you get what you pay for", but in City Central's case, I would say they're overcharging for mediocre at best.

  • Mostly OK hostel. Nice and tidy place. However people completely irrespectful of other in 4 dorms. Having phone rings, and eating noodle at midnight is just crazy. The world will work better when people will respect others...

  • For some of the shared rooms I suggest having a better ventilation system in place. This allows for random smells and odors (from previous and current guests) to be released and the feeling of fresher air. On the weekend I would prefer for the Bar Lounge to be open later into the evening, say 3am.

  • Overall, pleased. Housekeeping was really good. Only complaint is that WIFI ground to a halt during high usage times.

  • Hostel was in a good location and many friendly travellers to socialize with. Staff were very unfriendly and clearly did not want to be there. Hostel was well-maintained. Rates in the hostel are far more expensive than they are to book online and we were shocked to pay so much more when we had to book an extra night. Also, meals inside the hostel are about 4 times more expensive than they are to buy on the street. (98RMB for a plate of eggs and 20RMB for a drink).

  • Nice place to stay. Not in the center. 10 minutes walk to subway

  • The Chinese guy at the front desk was a full blown retard. I mean... how this guy is working with the public is beyond me. How he can even feed himself is beyond me. I'm not even going to try to go into details... if you go to this Hostel and you have to deal with him, you'll know exactly who he is and who I am referring to and what I am talking about.
