The hostel was clean and felt secure. The location was perfect for me because I was going to the Lanxess to see a concert and only had that one night in Cologne. It wasn't the easiest place to meet people though and some of the staff seemed a little rude - I politely asked if I could leave my key behind the counter (I was worried about losing it at the concert) and the staff member gruffly responded "No! the location was convenient for touring but was in a business district with no nightlife...whether that is good or bad depends on your plans i guess. I also had no real lounge and no kitchen so was not too great for meeting people. very clean etc though, your standard 800 bed HI type set-up. Ellen, from USA ~ 11th Oct 2009

The name on the wall says "Hostel", but it feels more like a hotel. The rooms were big, nice, and clean- but forget about getting help from the men behind the counter. If your looking for someplace to sleep only then stay here. If you want to meet people, or want a staff member to be personal then forget about it. Samuel, from USA ~ 5th Aug 2009
