Costa Rica Backpackers was our very first hostel experience. Our plane was over an hour late and the driver waited for us, which was so great! Upon our arrival, the staff was extremely helpful and nice. We only stayed there for one night and half the next day, but the atmosphere was laidback and relaxing. We'd return in a heartbeat! This hostel was not exactly what I was expecting, it felt safe with the security guard out front but it was not extremely clean.

Met some very cool people here. Not the plushest accommodation ever, but who could argue with a pool taken straight from a 70\'s porn set....

The double room was small and suffocating, the bed had no real matress plus you could hear what was going on in the whole block (trains,loud music and screams all night long)Despite the dodgy area and the average staff, the place is nice, beautiful garden and free internet,cool for socializing but not for sleeping. The secret: book one of their deluxe rooms from the hostel´s website!Just accross the street, they are WAY better..It´s REALLY worth the 2 extra dollars!!!

very good place, like an siland in the city. good crowd around as well, try avoiding the rooms next to the reception though as it's kinda noisy there

Very nice hostel. Big but not too big. Fun but no - we cannot sleep- fun. Nice staff, really did things for you. Movies and restaurant, also very good to relax for a day between trips. Near the city centre.
