It is a dump, over a night club that creates enormous noise but the owners are very pleasant good people but the place needs help. Additionally, it is just short of climbing Mount Everest to get to the rooms.

Not a bad place but gets booked up quick because its cheap, book a few nights if you are staying I had a problem booking more nights.

It was not the best but it was good at the price and the staff were very curtious and helpful and we had no complaints. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Crown Hostel.

this is the only cheap place near everything in Patong. The owners are very nice, and the room was pretty clean.

For those that arent too worried about where they stay, this is definitely a must; location was excellent, rooms were clean and had all the essentials, and noise wasn't too much of a problem because was out most of the time any way. Owner was excellent too - definitely ask him for any info on phuket because he knows it all, gave really cheap deals, and was friendly, kind and spoke perfect english! hope to come back here again

Hard to really compare with other hostels as I have only been to two so far. Location great, staff friendly.

No air-conditioning, rooms were warm and stuffy, nondescript entrance that would have driven customers away, no warm/hot water for shower, the sink were clogged, and it gets very noisy at night with thumping (and bad) music from next door. But location is good, right in the middle of the nightlife street.
