I just loved it. The house was beautiful in a lovely mountain setting. The staff couldn't have been nicer to me though there was a 40 year age gap. I luckily hit a day when they had a college group taking an educational tour so got to join in that which was informative. The food was to die for. I had the best breakfast of my life there with all fresh foods and herbs. The cook was great. It was the off season so I had a room with a loft and a twin bed to myself. The college group had stayed in the group room which is very large and sleeping bags are required. The house is newer with windows everywhere and the wood trim is beautiful. The up bath shower is the size of a small closet. The kithcen is large with granite counter tops. It's off the beaten track for sure but in the lovely New Hampshire mountains with rock climbing nearby as well as hiking, etc. Loved it, the people and the food as well as learned a lot.

The people that greeted me were very friendly. You can tell that they are educators because of their detailed explanations of everything, which I really appreciate. The internet booking didn't specify that there would not be a bed in the Yoga Room, so I was a bit disappointed that I had to go from $17 to $55 just to get a bed, but the room was nice. I wish I could come back in warmer weather to actually learn more about the farm. Living completely off the grid is a great concept if it can be achieved.

The farm was a great place to take part in outdoor winter activities and see one way an organic live/work situation could be executed.

No one at all was anywhere in or around the property when we arrived to check-in and as the doors were unlocked, we went in and took a look at the proposed room, which wasn't prepared for use. We hung around for an hour waiting for someone to appear, then gave up and went elsewhere.

Before arriving there, I wasn't expecting a place like that at all. What an experience! The "house" is so big and nice and welcoming.

YOU NEED TO GO TO DACRES. It is an amazing place. I was out for a motorcycle ride of the Northeast and made DACRES my anchoring point. The place is great and the people are outstanding. Although a working farm the place was spotless. Everyone was extremely nice and informative. It's been a while since I've been hosteling and I am glad I choose DACRES to get back into it.

Both myself and my boyfriend needed to get away from the NYC area. We both prefer a slower, more agrarian lifestyle and had heard about Dacres. Our expectations were greatly exceeded the moment we arrived, we were greeted by staff and helped to get settled. We both support what Dacres stands for in building a self sustaining, healthier lifestyle. A special thanks to Louie for his over and above hospitality. Christina and Rich, NYC Metro

The most fun I've had at a place to live. The staff is extremely laid back and friendly, and despite being a farm, every room is spotless clean. Breakfast was amazing--the best pancakes I've ever had. The farm has all sorts of animals, and a beautiful garden, and is the perfect place to see stars at night. Not too far from most of attractions (30 min - 1 hour drive).
