Water pressure was always a surprise, both in the sink and the shower. Half the time the sink splattered around the whole room. Also, there was an ant problem in our room. However, although it was disappointing, overall our stay was adequate, and I wouldn't know if any comparably priced hostels in the area would be in any better condition.
The administration apologizes for the water and ant problems. We have called an insecticide company, and all the ants are gone now. Same for the water problem our plumber took care of the problem.

This is a great place with a very helpful staff. Although improvements could always be made, I felt totally safe in regard to my belongings, and the staff was phenominal. Excellent location too. I would stay again! Paul, from USA ~ 12th May 2009

Nice hostel, good location, just some blocks from Cairo museum... is on the roof of a really old building in center cairo, and is cheap... they organize cheap tours to luxor, aswan and other places... but you know what... forget everything and do it by yourself... is easy and you will enjoy more the experience... i recommend the Dahab for budget travellers... and the terrace is a good place to meet other travellers. The location is pretty central to everything (and only 3 mins walk to Egyptian museum). The staff are helpful but it seems only really helpful if you s want to book on one of their tours. The rooms are basic, but fine, and the toilets and showers are averaging clean. I guess overall what you can only expect for 3 to 4 euros per night.
