- “ More business hotel than hostel. No hang-out quality and WiFi only works in the sterile lobby, but a clean room with digital TV. That's the trade-off. And after 6 weeks in China I was very happy to watch some movies in English . ”

- “ Our booking never made it to their books. Also, the hostel is tricky to find as it's in fact a hotel and not by the huge sign saying "4 DeFu Xiang" as you might expect it to be from reading the address (it's on the other side of the road a door or 2 down just after the road turns east if you're coming from the north). But after those initial hiccups, we couldn't have hoped for a better value-for-money and more pleasant place to stay with great, friendly staff (though their English is basic). ”

- “ RAT IN ROOM! (That's right.) No wi-fi, no computers, no internet of any kind in hotel, and no help from staff in finding it outside. (And no help from staff with anything else; the staff was friendly, but completely ignorant of travelers' needs.) The name of this hotel is not actually 1970's Guesthouse, but 9+1 Grand Hotel. Location: hidden at the end of a little alley, and hard to find, especially considering that the hotel is named something different from what appears on the listing here. ”
