  • It is well managed. I have to say this hostel is impressive. It holds different events everyday, and trying to make different.

  • The only reason why it gets a pretty high score is the location and the staff. When you first come in it looks awesome but thats it,anywhere out of the lobby is a huge dissapointment. The reason why I picked it was sleep and with the heat that just wasnt possible. We had one fan in the room and it wasnt working,I was in the 4th flor, imagine the temperatures! The elevator was broken most of my stay and the Wi-Fi gives u a headache, new sever obviously isn't good! The staff is nice, liked the caffe.

  • The Hostel has a nice location for exploring the city by foot, bus or rail. The amenities are ok, not suburb, but there are plenty of big communal rooms. And the complimentary breakfast is a good chance to fuel up for the day. People were nice. All in all good.

  • The atmosphere of the hostel wasn't good at all but the location was great and for just staying a night, it was ok.

  • Awesome place and staff! Only criticism I have is that the wifi is absolutely terrible( which is aggravating), the mens bathroom on the 1st floor smells like a portable toilet, and the room was way too small for 12 people. It smelled like the combination of sweat and dirty shoes, especially around bed time!

  • Quite good location, near to tram lines to the city centre. Very bad wifi, I haven't ever seen it working in five days I was there, and anyway as staff said it works just in the main room at the entrance, no wifi in rooms, just 4 working sockets in a 12 beds-dormitory, no sockets in bathrooms to shave or dry hairs, such a terrible warm at night in rooms that was almost impossible sleep. Good breakfast included, and helpful staff, nothing to complain about that.

  • Some feedback: No airconditioning. A bit noisy because of our neighbours. They had their dorm door slammed every time they enter/leaves the room.

  • Hotel Discovery was a lovely place to stay for a few nights. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, rooms were clean and I loved those new bathrooms on Level 3. Kitchen was messy, but its mainly because of the guests who did not clean after themselves. There were staff members doing the best they can to keep it clean and its a lovely big kitchen. They are renovating and doing a good job at the moment, so I hope it will all be better soon.

  • Great place to meet people. Very centrally with many opportunities to buy food, good connections, close to the University and the pub area of the Melbourne CBD.

  • Good clean hostel, you pay for what you get, we had a double private room which was basic but clean. Showers and bathrooms clean and quiet overnight. Slightly annoyed to have a bottle of alcohol confiscated from our room, understand the hotel has a non alcohol policy but we were not drinking it or being rowdy!

  • First time I came to discovery hostel, I'm impressed the surrounding here. Comfortable lobby, nice reception, kindly job agency, big kitchen, free wifi, and free and multi-breakfast...I really likes this place. Next time I go to Melbourne I will still choose discovery hostel.
