Do Step was a pretty good hostel. The staff was plenty helpful and friendly upon arrival, the premices were very clean, and I can't stress enough how great the location is. Wesbanhoff is a mere two minute walk away, it's excellent! What's more, the price was very reasonable. BTW, the noise on the street side of the hostel wasn't as irritating as other reviews made it out to be, it's nothing a couple of driks can't take care of anyway. I'd highly reccomend this establishment to anybody looking to visit Vienna!

The property was great, the rooms were quite lovely, but the mattress was old and uncomfortable and the showers were very temperamental, we were never sure if we would get a hot or a cold one! I dont know if there was a language barrier, but one of the reception staff was not particularly friendly or helpful and it took ages to be checked out!

A very unfriendly hostel in general. It is more like a dark apartment where you have a room. They do not even provide you with a cup of coffee/tea in the morning or ever. It is, however, clean and well located. When reading reviews before booking I never realised how important the friendliness factor is and what a difference it makes in your trip. I would never come back to them mainly because of their unwelcoming. The girl in recepcion should definitely look for another job.

I stayed in a shared room at the Do Step Inn - it was fairly quiet, very clean, and they had free internet access (although youre only allowed to use it from 9 AM - 9 PM). It is only a couple of blocks from the Vienna Westbahnhof train station, where a lot of international trains arrive. However, it is a 30-40 minute walk from the city center, which is pretty far (the metro is another option). if you don´t mind being a little far from the city center, its a great choice!

Warnings:
-This place has the weirdest, least friendly vibe I have ever felt in any hostel in which I have stayed.
-You are not supposed to put any drinks in the refrigerators, because they are trying to sell you marked up drinks out of vending machines.
-The bathrooms were gross. There was water everywhere, and they stank.
-There was NO hot water EVER in the building we were in, and at times, no toilet paper.
-The internet gets shut off at 9pm.
-It is a 40 minute walk into the inner ring of Vienna (where everything is).
-Midday (11.30 to 1ish), the cleaning staff, which may be the family who runs the place, TAKES OVER the kitchen. They use all the burners on the stove, all the dishes, and there are about 8 of them running around the kitchen scowling at any guest who enters.

It's right next to a main road so that it's very loud even at night. There are car passing by frequently and thus hard to fall asleep. The hotel itself is very clean and the staff is very friendly.

Great kitchen, rooms and common area. Staff very friendly and helpful. Not a place for people who want to party. Pretty quiet and uneventful

Small room, but comfortable and clean. VERY noisy on street side, and window must be left open since there is no A/C. You'll need ear plugs to sleep.
