  • Booked a private room that was very small for the price paid. Beware that if you are taller than 5'4 you'll probably not fit in the bed. The window in the room was right outside the main entrance area of the hostel meaning extremely noisy with people smoking, and coming in drunk and loud at 4:00 am. Not sure about the quality of other places in Taipei, but this one was not anything special. Staff was really nice and accommodating.

  • The beautiful staff were approachable and informative. They always smiled when interacting with guests. The location is good for nearby there are many local restaurants where you have access to authentic local flavors. A night market is also within walking distance. It is close to the local teachers' college so the customers in the market are mainly students. It is safe. The food there is the best.

  • Incredible staff, great location, free tea. What a wonderful home away from home. If anyone wants to stay in a great hostel in Taipei, I highly highly suggest Eight Elephants.

  • I stayed at EE on and off over the course of two weeks. The staff was incredibly accommodating to my unpredictable schedule, and even allowed me to store some of my travel gear when I went on an extended trip throughout the countryside for a week. While in Taipei, I learned so much from the staff about the fantastic sights and places to eat that a guidebook was unnecessary much of the time. They were always willing to go the extra mile so that I had a comfortable stay. I will stay here again.

  • The staff is super-friendly and the atmosphere just great. You see the love in all the little details at this hostel. Unfortunately the AC in our room was really loud. And we did not get back the deposit money for two days on which we did not need the room since we were traveling. But that's about all negative things I can tell. :) The hostel is close to a MRT station, to some ATMs and places where you can get food and drinks.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dreaming Dragon. The location is perfect--a quiet residential district just three stops from Taipei station. The staff were friendly, and Karen gave us a helpful introduction to the area and some ideas about what to do during our stay. Facilities were clean, and the room was cosy and spacious. I liked that at DD there was plenty of privacy and personal space. I would stay here again if I'm back in Taipei. PS: the hand drawn welcome card was lovely :)

  • It's a good place to live. It's quiet, convenient, and clean. I especially like the piano in the lobby. If you want to find a comfortable place to take rest, it's definitely a good place to go.

  • An exemplary hostel experience. The staff was outstanding: Immediately after my reception, I was given a map of the area and was told about many great places to eat. I was introduced to other guests who were similarly friendly, warm, and welcoming. The hostel has great character and an awesome atmosphere. It is less than five minutes from the met. Just follow the directions and you will find it no problem. I cannot stress enough how great the staff is. Would definitely stay again in the future.
