Really enjoyable hostel with great atmosphere and fantastic, friendly staff. Location is not prime, but it's very safe and just by the subway station and with many buses going from there. Many outings organised and you can always find a good company to go somewhere in the evening. Instead of staying there for 2 nights we stayed there for the whole 8. Very good breakfasts and excellent caipirinia. Dorota, from Poland ~ 9th Oct 2009

There were a lot of bugs in the rooms and common areas... but otherwise clean! Staff were really helpful! Andrea, from USA ~ 9th Sep 2009

Had the most amazing time, was difficult to leave. Staff are fabulous, extremely helpful. Atmosphere there was excellent, don't think i'll find it anywhere else! Made some great friends. Lisa, from New Zealand ~ 5th Jul 2009

Stayed a couple of nights, one in private, one in dorm. Private room was very good. Dorms, as some have suggested, were a little cramped. That said, the lockers under the bed (which were the problem with people trying to pack and check out in the morning) were nice and large. Warmest shower to date in Brazil - that definately increases my good will towards the place! David, from England ~ 3rd Jun 2009

El Misti had a great friendly atmosphere and was in an ideal location for finding your way around the city. However I didn“t find the staff very helpful and felt ripped for having to sleep in a room of 6 people that was made for a double bed, in beds that were nailed together to make three level bunk beds!
