We LOVED Hostal Montanes. The staff was friendly and accomodating, the gardens were beautiful, the room was large and comfortable and impeccable clean, the price was reasonable, and the views from the "common room" were great. I would highly recommend Hostal Montanes to anyone visiting Antigua.

Really lovely hostel, very clean, beautiful and peacefu.l Perhaps a 10 minute walk from the town centre, but away from crowds and traffic. In general, very nice. Ishmael

Absolutely the best hostal I have ever stayed in anywhere in Central America and the price was excellent. The hostess is delightful, the breakfast room is outstanding with a delicious breakfast. The common TV room is spacious, the room we had with twin beds was great - nice beds, pillows, linen was crispy and new. The banos was spotless, we could have eaten off the hallway floors (just kidding but you get my drift). I will recommend this hostal to everyone who is going to Antigua.

Highly recommended, good spot for a smaller group, 3 rooms on second floor with 2 bathes and TV room. Up to 8 people can stay on that floor, one room on first. Very clean, nicely landscaped, walking distance to everywhere and great staff. This place is great.
Pretty property with great group room with TV, DVD, piano, couches, tables, and patio. The food is good and the El Montanes has a nice "fell" about it..
This is the nicest hostel I have stayed in, clean, great breakfast, helpful staff, and plenty of hot water:) I would highly recommend to anyone.
