The hostel was nice. It has a really nice and unique charm. The Staff was very helpfull and funny. In the hostel descriptions stands,that the hostel is 20 min from punta de elste away. Well, that`s not true. It is farther away.After you get off the bus on a road in Manantiales you have to walk for an other kilometer or so with your bags. The bathrooms were clean, but they have some bathrooms who were outside and in the wintertime it sucks to go outside for a shower. olga, from Germany ~ 10th Apr 2009

This place was really fun. It was clean and had good facilities. While you aren't actually in the city of Punta del Este there is a $1 bus every 15min that runs back and forth. The staff was very welcoming and they always had something entertaining going on. I will be back. Brandon, from USA ~ 25th Feb 2009

First, you should know that this hostel is not IN Punta del Este... it is (an easy) 20 minute busride outside of town. This was an advantage to me... I enjoyed being in Manantiales, which is quiet and relaxed (and near lots of quiet beautiful beaches), yet having easy access to the big city. That said, the hostel is a nice place... the staff was excellent, the common areas quite attractive (with an outdoor pool). Great place, although they have flies everywhere, specially in the kitchen, they should do somethimg to fix that. the staff is very nice and helpful. To start this hostel is in a terrible location. Its FAR from everything, you need to take a bus to get anywhere and the beach is NOT very close like they claim. It is also probobly one of the filthiest hostels I have even been to. The bathrooms where disgusting and smelled like open sewage, and since this is a PARTY hostel there was vomit everywhere after the first night. I would never ever recommend staying here, infact I asked to cancel the rest of my stay after the first night and moved into Christina, from Canada ~ 20th Jan 2009

I didn't like this place at all, mainly because I felt like I was lied to from the start. This hostel IS NOT IN PUNTA DEL ESTE, it's 20 minutes outside of Punta Del Este. If you want to party in Punta you will have to take a $25 US cab out there and when you're done partying it costs the same to come back. Also the hostel serves dinner (reasonably priced) but it was awful. Also the closest ATM is 3 miles away and the buses have a very limited schedule. We walked all that way just to find out tha
Hey Jared!! We are sorry to read this kind of comment from you! but we also feel the necessity to get in contact with you because we know that most of things you say are not true. First thing, you are saying that we lied to you all the time (we have waited for you hours after the supposed hour of arrival and gave you a free dinner - as it was already midnight and everything was closed). The pizza you had, as we told you before hand, was the STAFF pizza! We have been asking who wanted pizza all day long and you decided that you wanted to eat with us just at 9pm. Be grateful that we took pizza out of our mouth to give to you!! You acclaim that we say that the hostel is in Punta del Este... have you noticed the name?! Hostel Manantiales!! If you look at the web site and to the "how to arrive" link.. you'll see that we exactly say how to get here! The prices of the taxi?! You came for a holiday in the most expensive place of all Uruguay! What do you think? On top of all, the staff have been helping you for whatever you guys needed. Maybe you should do your try to visit 5 stars hotels and leave the hostels to those that just want to enjoy life! Still we wish you to come back and stay with us so that you can point your finger at all the mistakes we may make! Thank You!!
