Empire Hostel in Singapore, Singapore

went with my boyfriend,didnt even stay 1night the place was awefull,rooms where no bigger than a jail cell,dirty sheets,the toilet and shower cubicles where in one so u could shower whilst on the toilet,was tiny&disgusting,(also right next to eating area,so if u where eating you could here the person in the toilet,open plan) also wires hanging out te roof right next to the shower,safe?dont think so! we checked straight out and found a nice place arround the corner.im not a snob but was horrible!

Our hostel is definitely absolutely clean and safe. You can check other reviews of this hostel that we are always clean. Please do not bad mouth our hostel. As real estate is very expensive in the little city of Singapore the room are normally smaller in hostels in the city centre. I'm sure larger 5 star hotels in Singapore will provide more spacious rooms. We provide budget accommodation for travelers looking for the best VALUE. For the price you pay at our hostel, you can't find better accommodation elsewhere.

Basic but decent breakfast, shower/toilet combo is wiped daily & have cool/warm water, rooms are clean, beds are super comfy with a/c & they have free wireless & computers on site. Few minutes walk to MRT. Downsides are they have an insect & rodent problem but it's good for the price. If all you need is a clean bed & nice shower, come here. The worst we have been. The room was like a mouse-hole, the so-called bathroom is a toilet equipped with a shower above you. Not allowed to use own flip-flop for bathroom, etc. Gabor, from Hungary ~ 19th Oct 2009

The 5-bed room is quite noisy as it is next ti the main road.. Other than that, it's quite clean. Good location too. It is closer to Farrer Park MRT as compared to Lavander MRT. Alina, from Romania ~ 5th Oct 2009

Windowless tiny rooms. You could not open the door without scraping the paint of the beds in the closet I stayed in. Showers were painted black and very dark. Very hard to find just a door with no sign, and the staff were never there for check in. Free breakfast was hot water and toast. Jason, from USA ~ 5th Oct 2009

Great hostel, night I stayed at the backpackers cozy corner and I didn't feel cozy there! So I moved to this hostel. Sometimes you have to search for the (unless you use the bell, works pretty good)! It looked nice and clean and feld pretty save, about leaving my stuff in the room (dorm, you have your one locker)! About cleanes, probably you find some bugs here and there. But after 3 mnds traveling in Asia, I have to say didn't see a lot off places without (so I guess you have to get used to jeffrey, from Netherlands ~ 7th Jul 2009
