  • I call Empire Hostel the Best Kept Secret in Singapore! Quiet Roomy and just the best Air condition ever, even the Big Social Room is COOL. Now this is a Simple, Clean and Quiet Place. No frills but when I returned to Singapore THIS IS MY Number One Choice to stay. Places between two MRT Stations, just three blocks to get to anyplace in Singapore. Usually it is the Best Price too and I like this because I stay two or three weeks and I save considerable money staying at Empire. JUST TRY IT

  • At first I thought it was a little out of the way but I soon found that it was between two MRT Stations and just a short 3 Block walk to the nearer one. Roomy Cool even the Big Common Room. Washers and Dryers and Great Showers. Staff just the Greatest and THE LOWEST PRICE IN TOWN. I Like this for Long Stay. I am off to Japan for a few days and I will come back to my Home away from Home. Just don't tell anyone about THIS TREASURE, A REAL FIND!

  • We booked for 3 days and we're surprised that the hostel was full. According to the owner, she did not received any confirmation on hostels.com about our booking details and she will not refund our down-payment because she did not received any notice on hostels.com.

  • DON'T GO HERE IF YOU DON'T WANNA GET HARASSED. Thomas, who runs it, was friendly at first but turned out to be all weird during my stay with a girl friend. He persuaded us to go out with him. We thought he'd just give up after that first time turning him down. But later at night, he waited for us again and even offered us another day of stay for free. Worse, he disrespectfully condemned our Singaporean friend who accompanied us to the lodge. He won't stop bugging you, trust me.

  • We had a good time staying at the hostel. Place is clean, having massager chair is a plus, staff are nice and accommodating although location is not that close to the city and bus stop but its a good exercise after all, Been in this place for the 3rd time and they were able to keep the place clean. Definitely be back again next year with my mom and kids again.

  • It's not as central as other hostels, and doesn't have the party atmosphere. So I would not recommend it for sociable backpackers passing for 2-3 days looking for a good time. But it's a great place for long-term stays - cheap, clean, comfy, relaxed, and the girl at front desk is super nice.
