- “ I was happy with my stay at Encore Express. Rooms and bathrooms were clean & tidy. I loved the free WI-FI, the mini soap and shampoo bottles which were provided daily by the housekeeping staff and the free coffee. My only complaint would be the presence of drunk/homeless/non-guest people who frequently congregate at the door at night. I would appreciate it if the staff could ask those without a reservation/room to move away from the door of the hostel. ”

- “ I stayed with a friend for 5 nights in a 6 bed dorm. We were traveling without a car so we were walking quite a lot. Since the location of the hostel is very central ( 10 min. walking from union square) it was no problem for us to get around! The staff was very nice and helpful! I guess it was a little bit more expensive than in the other city's we've been too ( LA & Las Vegas) but I think it's average for San Francisco. The room was nice and clean. Also was the bathroom. I recommend it! ”

- “ Way too loud in the neighberhood, and scary because it's the homeless area and they are MANY!! Weird that it is expensive for a dormitory with 6 in it and people share single beds so we were 10 in the room, impossible to sleep! ”

- “ Good Hostel. Clean. Good location. Nice rooms. There is a garage near the hostel. One bad think is a very loud music from a basement. There is a rehearsal rooms in the basement. ”

- “ The area was not very safe, even the locals warned us. We were met by a very rude lady at our arrival, who told us we could not check in until 3 or 4 pm, when it said 2.pm on their website.She was not very helpful when we tried to ask if she could store some of our belonging safely while we went out to wait. Under the hostel there was some kind of club with a band who played late and noisy. We moved to Grant hotel, a very cheap and lovely hotel down the same street street in a safer area. ”

- “ Good hostel, well located and with a very helpful staff. It seemed a bit unsafe because there were no lockers, just a small space for money and documents. They did provide a padlock, though. A good hostel, specially considering the price and the location. I would definitely go back. ”

- “ This was my first hostel in the area and i must say I was very impressed. Very clean, beautiful building, friendly staff and good character. Only thing is no common area or kitchen, so hostel bondidng went down a bit, but great place to get some sleep. Great value! ”

- “ We stayed at Encore Express for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It was the perfect spot to crash after a long day of sightseeing. The room was spacious, clean and had pleasant décor. The coffee in the morning was delicious too! The location is prime, walking distance to everything in the city. I totally recommend staying here, it's cheaper then other hostels without compromising quality. ”

- “ Encore express is in downtown, which is easy to go to anywhere. It is quiet. Although the restrooms are public, they are clean and enough to serve the many people. I stayed in a 4 bed-room.We have a wash basin in our room. We have a small wardrobe, a fridge, a TV and three tables. The room is small while the facilities are complete. The only disadvantage is that this hostel doesn't have an elevator, which made me exhausted to carry my luggage to the third floor. ”

- “ I did like the friendliness & help from staff. Nice to have coffee & creamers & micro available & be able to store luggage. Decent & clean room & decor. Liked sm frig & sink in room. Could use more bathrooms & an elevator. Good for singles/younger people/backpackers who dont mind stairs & rock bands practicing til 11pm. Located in sketchy area. Thin walls head neighbors' amorous activities unfortunately. Ok for the price. ”
