A little weird hostel. It seems like one room is used by two girls to earn some extra money with offering a "love service". The bathroom facilities really suck. We would never recommend it to a friend and the rate is the only reason to stay there.

This place really is the end of the world. first of all, the hostel is not really in san telmo, it is on a major street that is relatively close to the metro, but not in the best neighorborhood. when we arrived, the hostel didn't have electricity, and they claimed it was the whole block, but everyone else on the block had electricity. they gave us a candle and led us to a freezing room that had a horrible smell. There was no hot water, toliet paper and all over the halls, there was trash and someone had apparently dropped a bottle of wine some time before that no one had bothered to clean up. The beds did not even have sheets and in the middle of the night, several drunken guys pounded on our door to let them into "their room" no matter how many times we told them their room was down the hall. the next morning, there still wasn't electricity and it was still frigid, so we decided to switch hostels. upon telling the staff we were planning on switching, they were even ruder than before and refused to refund us for one night after we paid for two nights, stating it was their policy to keep the payment, even if you were not staying, despite our protests that we should be refunded at least a percentage because of the conditions. really a truly terrible place. yes, it is cheap, but for what you are getting, you should be paying about $.50 a night. should be taken off hostels.com and all other websites.

So this is a pretty grubby hostel thats in a bad location for seeing most of Buenos Aires. The staff are fairly rude and don´t really speak English. There is no heating in the rooms and the windows have cracks in which makes the rooms freezing. The bathrooms aren´t very clean and toilet paper isn´t provided.

When I arrived there wasn`t a room for me, they have to send me to another hostel anda charge the same amount for a room with shared barthroom.

The place is funky, and the staff very helpful and knowledgable of the area. when i was there the bathrooms were beimg renovated, so there was only 1 shower /toilet for my floor. Also the common aea is in the same area is in reception so if you want to use the phone or the computer it´s difficult as you have to share the area with drunk students. The place is on a major road so if you´re a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. The dorms (which i didn´t stay in but saw as the doors and windows are wide open), are occupied mostly by long term people, are nasty. Dirty clothes and old food strewn everywhere... but you can´t blame the hostel for the untidiness of their occupants. it´s the cheapest place but you can stay elsewhere close by for a little more and stay in comfort.

Hi. Although i didn't end up staying at the san talmo...omly had a shower and then got referred. the staff was really nice and helpful. budget-wise...they could use some computer upgrades and maybe plumbing. They kindly referred me to the End of the World Gay Hostel and made the call for me. The Gay hostel was really cool. staff was nice and atmosphere was very laid-back and cool. pool table and availbility of breakfast and beer/wine was really cool. plumbing and computer improvemnets, again are the thing, thanks, Earle
