There was nothing wrong with the accommodation but it was very very expensive. At £35 a night when next door in the same site ( Edinburgh University ) the YHA was charging £24 a night.

This was my 1st experience of hostelling, and I was very pleased with it. I did stay in a single room, so my experiences may have been different to others.
I enjoyed my stay, New College Place was nice and quiet, if that is what you seek. The room was cozy, clean, and provided me with the amenities that I needed. The washroom was clean, but had little in the way of clean towels so bring your own. Security was great, I didnt have to worry about that. The location is good if you know where you are and the scenery was second to none, Arthur's Seat was rigth outside my window. Since this location is the satellite accomodation of Edinburgh Halls, maps of the city and surrounding area's were not available off hand. The staff were friendly and accomodating for every question and I would come back again because of them. Thank you for everything.

This was my first stay at a hostel and I was very much satisfied with all aspects of the facility. I highly recommend this particular hostel to anyone traveling to Edinburgh. The location couldn't be better and the staff was super. I'll stay again on my next trip. Jerry Louisiana, USA
