Eurostudent home in San Francisco, Italy

Not enough bathrooms! Stayed in the low season when it wasn't particularly crowded and still constantly had to wait to use the bathroom while people were showering. No real place to hang out except the tiny kitchen (which is nice and fully stocked for cooking though). Can't access WiFi from the rooms. Great location though the directions on the site are way off. 5 flights of stairs to get to the hostel. Free internet on one computer in the "common room." Shoshana, from USA ~ 22nd Dec 2011

Wasn't like a traditional hostel, was more like a big apartment with all the rooms turns into dorms. There was a kitchen, but the individual rooms didnot lock, there were 2 bathrooms for the entire hostel (maybe 20/30 people?) It worked fine for my purposes, left at 3am for the airport and didn't need to use the showers. The staff was very helpful, carried my bag upstairs (it was on the 3rd floor), and called a taxi for me. This hostel is really close to the train and bus station, which is the only good thing about it. The staff isn't so friendly unless you are a girl, to whom the give free chocolate and coffee, if you are a guy like me, they'll not be so friendly or patient as to explain routes and places. When we reached there they could not recognize our booking (for 2 persons). They gave us a temporary room with 6 beds crammed to the limit. The walls were dirty with pictures of half naked women all over. No electrical connections, filty bathroom, no closets or safes. The common kitchen which is an invitation to spread disease... it is that dirty. The guy in charge was barely dressed and hitting on every woman in sight. Location was great, and it was an ok place to stay for a couple of nights, but no more. No soap on the bathroom, the bathingcurtain was repaired with tape and we had to turn off the light in our room with a broom, because the switch was in the ceiling.
