Wonderful hostel, the host is the nicest woman, who really looks after each guest like her own, Its more of a home than a hostel, loved it. Eoin, from Ireland ~ 29th Sep 2009

pros: aunti aini (amazing!) excellent location, aunti aini yet again cons: cost (f1 weekend) Auntie Aini made this place, she is awesome, accomodating, sweet and just downright amazing. he is like a den mother to all of us while staying at the fernloft. The place is alright, excellent location, close to MRT and the best eats in singapore. yet again i cannot say anything bad about Aunti Aini. gavin, from USA ~ 29th Sep 2009

Great place if you need a bed in Singapore. Convenient location, friendly and accommodating staff, and has all the basics you'll need. However, lack of common area limits socializing and area to sit and relax.

They have cctv but that didn't deter an underwear snatcher from striking. Other than that the security appeared to be outstanding.

The location was great, we could buy and eat almost anything. The room was neat, clean and hommy in a way. The toilet was clean, which is very good. Of course there was Maria, which is very good and helpful. Thank you Maria. Albert, from Indonesia ~ 23rd Jul 2009

We booked a Chinatown hostel, but there was a remodel going on and didn't find out until we got there. The staff and the owner were extremely helpful in trying to transfer us to another location. Everything was great. The location is a bit walk from the metro but manageable. It has all the basic you need. One thing though, the bunk beds made out of metal and it creaks loudly at night. I'm a light sleeper, so I did not sleep very well as a result for my bunkmate moved a lot at night. Rodwell, from USA ~ 24th Jul 2009

As renovations were taking place at Fernloft Chinatown I was moved to the River valley location...the additional cost was waved as well as my taxi there! The hostel is central and they have the best receptionist working there and you are made to feel extremely welcome, free internet and a breakfast too plus the A/C is good...well worth it!!! We were expecting a different standard judging from the hotel's website pictures (in spite of the very low price), so when we first arrived we were a bit taken aback by the rough-and-ready style and, especially, the messy surroundings, with construction going on etc. But once we realized it was exactly what it made itself out to be, a clean, simple backpacker hotel, we warmed up to it considerably. The place's best feature is the receptionist Maria, not only a darling person, but an efficient, c
