Despite the good location we had a fairly bad experience at this hostel. We arrived a few hours after the estimated time of arrival to find that our beds had been given away despite paying a deposit and booking through hostelworld (which states that on the event of a no-show youre charged anyway). We were offered airbeds in a private apartment occupied by a couple - not ideal. The airbeds were very uncomfortable and we wernt offered a discounted rate. The following night we were offered the sofa\'s for a higher rate than the dormitory bed (that we never received) would have costed us. When we refused the owner (Dave) offered it to a couple for free. We ended up staying at Gregorys Backpackers which was a much better option and the staff there were unbelievably helpful and nice! Although this could have been a one-off bad experience on our part from the hostel, when we were there Dave had given away the beds of other backpackers arriving and it seemed to be a bit of a recurring pattern judging from what others told us. Generally, safer to book Gregorys or YoHo hostel as you\'ll get what you pay for. If it all works out its a good hostel but it seems to be pot luck. Our only criticism is the management.

Dave is an amazing host. He has a unique brand of organised chaos going on and can\'t do enough for his guests. He inadvertantly double booked the last few nights of our stay and booked us another hotel which was more expensive and he paid the difference. As for the private room it is actually a spacious apartment which couldn\'t be better for a couple wanting to chill out uninterrupted and it\'s in an awesome location. Thank you so much Dave for everything.

Ok Dave, here is your review! Bucharest is %^*), everyone should stay in Varna. Breakfast isn\'t included and the showers could be better, but that\'s really all that isn\'t great about this hostel. Everyone just hangs out together and has an awesome time. It says a lot that about an hour and a half before I was supposed to catch a train to Bucharest, I was convinced to stay in Varna for another night. Miss it already!
very chill hostel- the only thing that would make it better is a garden. but i don't really like varna...

stayed in private room, turned out to be a seperate apartment. VERY dirty, needs sorting out before it should be let again, if we hadn\'t paid cash up front we would not have stayed. AVOID! overpriced and very little for your money

dave = diamond geezer!! dave (the owner) was incredibly helpul trying his best to make our stay as pleasant as possible. the location is spot on and the price is unbelievably good. thumbs up and keep up the good work!!! cheers,
awesome hostel, dave's an absolute legend. loved varna. great nightlife and beach was great. perfect location and great for meeting people. still here in fact. was only meant to stay for two nights.. five nights later and im still here! definitly stay here, cheers dave! Will and Will
