Three of the worst nights experienced in travelling to 40 different countries. Open-plan sitting /dining areas did not muffle conversations smoking permitted in both areas, so the majority of non-smokers suffered for the pleasure of the cancer enthusiasts. Plus, outside my room: meal preparations at 22.00,people having to be asked to be quiet at midnight another group talking loudly until 02.00 ditto two night staff and two girls at 04.30 a noisy water pump switching on and off all night.

We found the hostel was clean, staff friendly and atmosphere fine. We did have a beef with the rate on the hostel.com website being different than the rate when we got there. Our $30 US room turned into a 33/34 $US room, which is not a lot of money, but wrong on principle! I don't buy the exchange rate excuse either, we never found that anywhere else in Iquitos was using such a bad rate. Too bad it's that bad taste left at the end of the stay.
