- “ It was great very friendly and GREAT locación. The only thing is one night when i canceled they told me they would still have to charge me bc they couldnt re rent the Space even though I gave them a notice. They made an exception anyway but told me its something they don't share on this website ”

- “ Absolutely amazing stay here at Fortaleza - Tina, the woman is so nice and friendly - she speaks both English and Spanish. Also quick fact - this is one street up from where a scene from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie was shot! ”

- “ Location is great, and the way that the hostel is set up is there are 3 floors, but the top (roof) only has 1 room and an outdoor kitchen. The other floors have 3-4 rooms and share two bathrooms and a kitchen between them. Everyone was friendly, and I never felt bothered. Only complaint was actually the fantastic location. It's right in the center of old san juan, so on friday and saturday nights everyone is out, so it can get VERY LOUD. Other than that, good hostel. ”

- “ Perfect location. Staff does not speak english so better bring your spanish dictionary. It says in the hostel profile that there is air conditioning...but there is none. I think this is a big mistake. I was asking for a receipt but they don't have any. ”

- “ The one thing that bothered me was that the one guy who works there does not speak English. I usually don't expect people to, but this time I did. The guest house being in central Old San Juan, I did think that the staff would speak English. Turns out there's only one person who works there all day every day, and he doesn't speak English at all. Do your planning before you go or go to the information center, because he's of no help at all. Plus he doesn't keep the place very clean. ”

- “ Inmejorable ubicacion en pleno centro del viejo San Juan. Bastante basico y el edificio es un poco antiguo, pero suficientemente comodo y limpio para llegar a dormir. Aloje en varios lugares, incluyendo hoteles en el sector de Condado, y aca encontre la mejor relacion calidad/precio. Un poco bullicioso, especialmente los fines de semana dado que hay varios bares alrededor... pero bueno, supongo que no viajas a Puerto Rico para dormirte a las 10 PM. ”

- “ When I first saw this place I was a little dubious but after a while settling in, its a great place to be. Centrally located, and you can meet different people here quite easily. The rooms can become a little stuffy during the night, but the location more than delivers. I stayed during the food festival and you had salsa and rock performances performing just below the hostel, which meant from your balcony you had a birds eye view. WIFI was available, but not much power points available ”

- “ Loved the location and the value; staff was very helpful (although probably less so if you don't know any Spanish). Only complaint is that people kept leaving food out in the kitchen (leading to ants), but the staff cleaned it up at least once a day. ”

- “ I absolutely LOVED Fortaleza Guest House. It's perfect for meeting other awesome travelers, and the family that runs the hostel is amazing. They taught us to cook local dishes in the kitchen, they hung out with us, it was great. The rooms are lovely, and the best part of all is the location. Smack in the center of the best part of Old San Juan. The best! I stayed there a week and would have stayed longer if I could have! ”
