- “ We reserved for 1 day and paid the booking fee. When we arrived to the hostel upon agreed time there was no personnel to receive us, only a shirtless young man who could speak just Russian. We were waiting for an hour or so to get our beds, at this time we took a tour around in the hostel and were really unsatisfied. The whole place was super crowded, bunk-beds filling the rooms, shirtless teenagers walking around creating a mist of odor, combining sweat to shit. If you want cheap you get it! ”

- “ I spent three weeks there in St.Petersburg and it was more than a pleasure to stay in the hostel. It was located a step off the main boulvard, the Nebsky prospect, and the neighborhood was good enough to make me feel safe. I met a repeater to the city staying in the hostel, which suggests rationale to choose this hostel. The rate was a big bargain and I enjoyed the great city in the great country in a overall adequate place. The interior was impressive, but the kitchen was rather modest. Mineral water servi ”

- “ Despite intimating the hostel that we would be reaching late, we did not get the rooms that we had reserved. At 01.00 AM, they took the payment from us and redirected us to another hostel. We had no attached bathroom facilities at the hostel the staff at Federicks hostel had alternatively arranged for us. We were provided a dormitry in the hostel. There I met a group of people who also had a similar experience. I think the hostel advertises low rates and good facilities but does not have these. ”

- “ We booked private room but we didn't ever get it. We arrived early morning at 11 and staff said that private room is ok and you can leave your luggages here and you will pay and get a room later. We came back at 18 and there wasn't any private room for us and staff just said taht unfortunately all private rooms are full! So we had go to 10 people dorm for a night because they said that tomorrow we will get private room. Next morning the situation was same, not available room yet but later you will get ”

- “ Terrible service. The hostel overbooks and then moves guests to another hostel. Our rooms didn't at any point match with what we had booked. We received discounts, but no apologies. Not even a hint of an apologetic tone in their voice when downgrading our rooms. Fredericks Hostel's policy seems to be that they can treat their guests any which way they like if they just give them a discount. That is not how good customer service works. Do not go to this hostel. You can find better value elsewhere ”
