loved the hotel, had a queen size bed and a TV in room. So comfy! Only about 5 minutes walk to the sky tower so pretty central. Landlady is very helpful and the hotel is a home away from home!

I found the hostel owner very helpful, but this place should not have the description of a bed and breakfast. Showers were dirty (the first shower I had after a 22 hour flight had a cigarette butt in the plughole!) and the window in my room was broken, so did not shut properly. Breakfast was only provided at a additional charge. Place was very quiet, which was the only reason I stayed. However, there are better hostels in Auckland for less money.

Wonderful place, fantastic friendly owner, very relaxed about letting us pay in the morning, extendind our stay etc - liked the place so much we stayed an extra couple of days just to luxuriate watching tv in the king sized bed! 10 mins walk to town, same to Ponsonby Road with its awesome food court! Couldn't recommend a place more than this one!

We had a very nice stay at the Freemans Lodge. The staff were very helpful in helping us find our way around Auckland, and in booking a cab to the airport. They also let us store our bags at the hostel for the day, even though we had already checked out. The only negative aspect of this hostel (if it is a negative aspect) was that it was not as community oriented as other hostels as far as meeting people - it was more like a hotel.

I enjoyed staying at the Freemans B&B so much the first time i arrived in Auckland that i booked to stay there again just before flying out of New Zealand. The people here are lovely and the rooms are cosy and very clean. Lovely atmosphere and i really did love staying here

One of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. This was more like a bed & breakfast, with a more upscale feel and a beautiful sanctuary-like back yard ideal for reading or hanging out. Free internet was fast, easy to connect to. Staff was accomodating and friendly. Area was quiet, away from any city chaos but close enough to be just a short walk away. Rooms and common areas were meticulously clean. Would definitely return here.
