  • Superb location, right next to downtown very very friendly staff, a couple free breakfast. If there's better value for the money in Houston it's probably sleeping under a bridge.

  • This hostel is operated by the friendliest couple. They are so warm and sincere, helpful, generous, and I could just go on and on. The best hostel that I have ever stayed in!!!

  • Located in the old part of Downtown Houston in a preserved neighbourhood and the rooms/dorm are in the old fashion wooden houses with AC (a must in Texas). This all gives a charming character and sence of security at Friends House. Your hosts are warm and make you feel welcome & comfortable started from arrival till (after) departure. The atmosphere depends on yourself, personaly: I made new friends! This is an ecological environment: do not expect bleach cleanliness! Much more value 4 ur money

  • Friends House is a welcoming, comfortable, convenient, and clean hostel that I would recommend without hesitation. In town from Austin, TX, just up the street as backpackers go, I found the hostel’s name to ring true, as I enjoyed the company of folks from all over the world. Hosts and owners Danny and Leah are genuinely kind people who went out of their way to make me feel at home. The neighborhood is safe, charming, and an easy walk to downtown, the park, a few pubs, and other conveniences. Will

  • I feel like home and the owner is very helpful and friendly person. Even though she/he helped me to find suitable public transporatation and I'm sure next time I'll stay there.

  • Great and very friendly and helpful staff. I would stay at this hostel again during a future trip to Houston! Location is great too: a 15 minute walk to downtown that leads through a beautiful park. Take into account though that the "balance due" that hostels.com gives you is the balance WITHOUT taxes!!! So you end up paying more than expected, as these taxes are not mentioned anywhere on the booking.
