The hostel itself is very good. Great laundry possibilities, great rooms, great staff. And DO NOT be frightened of the very scary-looking entrance; it really is very nice, once you get up there. But, if you\'re looking to meet new people and have a social stay in Budapest, this is probably not the place for you, as the rooms are very secluded and you don\'t really see your fellow hostellers too often. Still, hostel is highly recommended.

when you arrive, dont try to buzz in to the hostel, no one is there. look for a note with your name spelled incorrectly and call the number on it. the address given is like the headquarters and it looks very sketch but it ends up being ok. the rooms were very nice ikea style. no ac. washer and dryer to use. cleanish bathrooms

it's a little noisy because you can hear sounds from the road... also, there is no fan... so it can get really warm

We arrived at Friends and we taken to a different (if not better) hostel. They had mucked up our booking, but it was still clean and tidy and had a nice "homely" feel about it. Friends itself was very hard to find and not well signed.
